"To live a life - is not to go through field." Such a conclusion can be made by listening to a story about the difficult but diverse and interesting working and social life of a famous construction engineer, former deputy chairman of the Council of Elders of the Abazin people, now retired Kharatokov Gabidin Khaji-Muratovich, a native of the picturesque Abazin aul Kara-Pago. Gabidine grew up in a large family and followed in the footsteps of his father - became a builder. After graduating from the Stavropol Construction Technical School, he entered the Kabardino-Balkar state university. Having received a specialty of construction engineer, he worked all his working life in the field of construction. At first he was a master of SMU-2, then worked as deputy head of the plant of the ZhBI of trust "Karachay-Cherkespromstroy", later a head of the PMK-11 of trust "Sevkavkazpromstroy", chief engineer and head of the PMK-14 of trust "Karachay-Cherkesvodstroy".

While still studying at the aul school of Kara - Pago, Gabidin showed his organizational abilities. He headed the collective of aul folk dance and song, which in 1963 won the second place in the regional competition. As a member of the Committee of the Komsomol of collective farm "Kuban" together with the secretary of the Committee of the Komomol Ramazan Aybazov he was elected as a delegate to the Komomol conference of the Stavropol region, held in January 1965 in the city of Stavropol. The conference was attended by Mikhail Andreevich Suslov, first secretary of the Stavropol Regional Committee of the Communist Party, and later member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Party. At the end of the speech M.A. Suslov addressed the delegates of the conference with the words: "Comrades delegates! If anyone has any questions and wishes, please submit notes in writing to the Presidium, I will try to answer them here or later notify about the measures taken by letter. " Gabidin thought, "Will he help? Does he need aul Kara-Pago? ". But he gained courage and wrote him a note on a leaflet from the delegate 's notebook: "Dear Mikhail Andreevich! A delegate from the Prekuban Komsomol organization from aul Kara-Pago writes to you... Our aul is fifteen kilometers from the city of Cherkessk, part of the Psyzhsky Rural Council and the collective farm "Kuban." Collective farmers and residents of the aul are unable to get into the village Council, the board of the collective farm, the city of Cherkessk and other settlements due to the fact that there is no bus. They get on foot, riding, what they got on.... ". At the conference, he received assurances that the problem would be resolved. It was not a month before in the aul of Kara - Pago twice a day, in the morning and evening, began to walk a bus from Cherkessk. Thus, thanks to Gabidin Kharatokov, one of the pressing problems of the aul inhabitants was solved.

Today Gabidin is retired, but never forgets his native aul: his beautiful fields, rich forests and the kind hardworking people that this fertile land has grown. By the way, the highest mountain of Europe Elbrus is visible from here as in the palm.

And, apparently, thanks to the nature of this amazing edge, Gabidin showed a spirit of creativity, and he began to write poems and compose songs, breed bees and practice horticulture. In the poem "Aul from Cubina" Gabidin writes so about Kara-Pago:

In the middle of mountain peaks of the Caucasus

Aul from Cubina stands.

You won 't find in the world

So many beautiful edges like ours.

I sing glory to you, my aul,

Where childhood and youth passed,

Where the boy barefoot I collected in the woods

Brushwood for my mother.

You raised mothers and fathers here,

Brothers, sisters and brides, grooms.

Heroes who in fights did not feel sorry for themselves,

You fed bread and gave birth to everyone.

Glorifying you forever,

Here live your Abazins.
